Obituary for Barbara Joe Jones

Barbara Joe (Howry) Jones, age 76, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019. She was born October 1, 1942 in Lawton, OK to Emmett and Alta (McPherson) Howry. She grew up in Amarillo and was a graduate of Palo Duro High School. She worked several years in banking before moving into a managers’ position at Langston’s in Yukon, OK. She was a hard worker, often holding down 2 & 3 jobs at a time. The life of the party and loved to dance and sing gospel music. Barbara married Orville Jones in 1996 and they lived here in the Mustang area. She was preceded in death by her parents; Emmett Sr. “Chief” and Alta Howry, brother; Emmett Jr and sister; Marilyn Bryant. She is survived by her husband Orville, three children; Lisa Moss and husband Scott, Phil Key and wife Christina and Amy Weldon, also by step daughter Jesse McIver and husband Bub, nine grandchildren; Chase Key, Matthew Moss, Savannah Reed, Rider Weldon, Zach Baker, Emily Macke and Emily, Grace and Moses McIver and three great grandchildren; Dahlia Moss, Everly Macke and Waylon Matthew Macke, also by one brother; Phil Howry and wife Jean Ann. A Memorial Service will be 2:00pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019 in The Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
